I have Messenger 8.1.0.195. I have a USB headset and microphone, running on Windows XP SP2. I can send and receive calls from others, and the headset works fine. However, when I try to hold a conference call, either an incoming one from a friend, or by pressing the Conference button in IM, the "Join My Conference..." box has the "Enable Voice for this conference" checkbox greyed out. How do I enable Voice for the conference call?
Get rid of that version of messenger and just download the latest version. That may just be the trick.
try this Issac, before u invite someone to a voice chat or a conference like now, click on actions on your messenger friends list then in the box u will see invite to conference, click that then check enable voice for this conference and it will stay checked, hope this takes care of your problem, mack f
