The Ant works hard in the withering heat all summer building its house and laying up supplies for the winter.
The Grasshopper thinks the Ant is a fool and laughs & dances & plays the summer away.
Come winter, the Ant is warm and well fed. The Grasshopper has no food or shelter so he dies out in the cold. *

Come winter, the shivering Grasshopper calls a press conference and demands to know why the Ant should be allowed to be warm and well fed while others are cold and starving.
*NDTV, BBC, CNN * show up to provide pictures of the shivering Grasshopper next to a video of the Ant in his comfortable home with a table filled with food.
The World stunned by the sharp contrast. How can this be that this poor Grasshopper allowed suffering so? *
Arundhati Roy ** *stages a demonstration in front of the Ant ' s house . *
Medha Patkar** *goes on a fast along with other Grasshoppers demanding that Grasshoppers be relocated to warmer climates during winter.*
Amnesty International and Koffi Annan *criticizes the Indian Government for not upholding the fundamental rights of the Grasshopper.
The *Internet* is flooded with online petitions seeking support to the Grasshopper (many promising Heaven and Everlasting Peace for prompt support as against the wrath of God for non-compliance) . *
Opposition MPs *stage a walkout. Left parties call for "Bharat Bandh" in West Bengal and Kerala demanding a Judicial Enquiry.
CPM in Kerala immediately passes a law preventing Ants from working hard in the heat so as to bring about equality of poverty among Ants and Grasshoppers. *
Lalu Prasad *allocates one free coach to Grasshoppers on all Indian Railway Trains, aptly named as the ' Grasshopper Rath ' .
Finally, the Judicial Committee drafts the ' *Prevention of Terrorism Against Grasshoppers Act ' *[POTAGA], with effect from the beginning of the winter.*
Arjun Singh *makes '*Special Reservation *' for Grasshoppers in Educational Institutions & in Government Services.
The Ant; fined for failing to comply with POTAGA and having nothing left to pay his retroactive taxes; its home is confiscated by the Government and handed over to the Grasshopper in a ceremony covered by NDTV.
Arundhati Roy calls it ' *A Triumph of Justice* ' .

CPM calls it the ' *Revolutionary Resurgence of the Downtrodden *'

The Ant has since migrated to the US and set up a multi-billion dollar company in *Silicon Valley* .
100s of Grasshoppers still die of starvation despite reservation somewhere in India ...
because of loosing lot of hard working Ants and feeding the Grasshoppers, *India is still a developing country!!!*
Good simily of a story. Listen TO this one- One party exports Crabs from India tO US. The shipper objects that the container is without a lid, the crabs will get out- the supplier assures saying,'these are Indian Crabs if one tries to escape there is another ready to pull him back/down so do not worry'
The cast system is simillar, there is a race to get reservation and the list is only becoming longer every year. Those who have reaped its benifits are not interested that their fellowmen should have them , while LEADERS the real culprits are enjoying haVING MADE FOOL/TRICKED EVERY one INCLUDING THE ONE THEY CALLED THE FATHER OF THE NATION WHO IS HAVING SLEEPLESS NIGHTS IN HIS GRAVE. See the irony higher casts want lower cast benifit, such is the JADHU of RESERVATION.

Its actually much more worse than that, reservations are used to divide the society and keep certain sections backward forever. If you see the list of people who benefit from the reservations very few are truly backward/poor even from the reserved castes most are pretty well connected and wealthy.
In the above story I wont be surprised if the grasshopper is sharing all his new found wealth with the people who claim victory of "social justice", its organized crime under name of upliftment of backward and this crime steals from both the hard worker as well as the "reserved category beneficiary".
Its the most disgusting of human traits but then we dont expect much from a society that sells kids for sex do we ? or kills babies in womb because they are females ?
As one very educated and learned ex-govt. officer told me in frustration, "This is Rakshas raj".
I am against reservation .
Reservation is intended originally for people ,who are made socially backward . It must be ended now ,when social discrimination is being punished since 60 years and the forwards suffered since 60 years . We cannot hope to become no.1 country in world as long as merit is ignored .
yes i totally agree wid u. due to this reservation system in India, a deserving candidate is not given the seat in his field. and the result is that the doctors, engineers, lawyers are all average or under average deserving candidates. If this reservation system is not lifted surely all the upper class talent is wasted. All the western countries will improve in every aspect and our India will still be developing country.
In my opinion all the reservations should go away. Only really poor / Economically backward people should be helped that too if they are above certain minimum level.
How long India will continue the list of SCs/ STs/ Backward and most backward classes. Whether the country is developing in the forward direction or backward direction. These reservation policies are continued only because of Vote Bank Politics and being followed invariably by almost all parties. Reservation can only be accepted to some extent irrespective the caste creed or sex..
Let everyone think reservation only for poor/ economically backward and meritorious with minimum merit and for similar people of really physically handicapped and members of the families of war heros. ( ex - Service men who really took part in war front )
